COMPOSTING

Keeping Nutrients Within The Community

Composting, or the decomposition of organic matter, is both the beginning and end of healthy food. Compost creates nutrient dense soil for food to grow. The access food parts, such as rinds, skins, leaves and peels can be collected and composted to add back to the soil. It's an endless loop of goodness, but our current systems are not set up to compost. Instead most of our compostable 'trash' is sent to landfills where it creates methane gas.
